GREENER HOME GREENER PLANET

Fill low areas in the yard or next to the foundation with compacted soil. Spring rains can cause yard flooding, which can lead to foundation flooding and damage, and insect infestation.

– Harvest spring rains with a rain barrel and save up to 1300 gallons of water and usage during the summer months, while enriching your lawn, garden and plants.

– Consider installing energy saving seasonal awnings and reduce heat gain up to 65% in south facing windows and 77% in the east. Awnings can also help protect furniture, floors and rugs from sun damage.

HEALTHY BITE
– Snack on a handful of anti-inflammatory, high in vitamin E, magnesium rich sunflower seeds for a daily calm.

LATEST DENVER/BOULDER MARKET NEWS

DENVER:  Home sales soar in March. March brought 6,247 new listings to the market, a 38 percent increase as compared to last month, and three percent more than this time last year. However, new listings did little to ease the inventory crunch. Eager home buyers quickly scooped up the active inventory and, in the process, sent home sales soaring. In March, 4,140 homes sold, a 46 percent month-over-month increase and one percent higher than compared to this time last year, http://www.recolorado.com/pages/article?tags=news

BOULDER:  Hot housing market: Boulder County home buyers are lining up for less inventory. The number of available houses for sale in the county is at a 10-plus-year low, jolting appreciation, creating bidding wars and pricing some people out in the process, http://www.timescall.com/business/local-business/ci_27614117/hot-housing-market-boulder-county-home-buyers-inventory

LATEST MARKET NEWS

DENVER:  Despite January’s impressive number of new
listings, inventory remains at a record low in the Denver market.
Indicative of the competitive housing market, sellers saw an extremely quick sales cycle in January. The average days on market remained at just 39 days, 17 days less than January 2014… Since July of last year, the number of available homes on the market has continued to shrink. At the close of January, there were only 5,152 active listings on the market, a four percent decrease over last month and 26 percent less than last year. http://www.recolorado.com/pages/article?tags=news

BOULDER:  As sales remain strong and steady in the Boulder market… The Boulder-area home month-to-month data continues to reflect the effects of low inventory and an economy that’s still finding its footing, but it is performing better than many other markets nationwide, according to Ken Hotard, vice president of public affairs for the Boulder Area Realtor® Association. The inventory of single family homes for sale fell 8.1 percent year over year and 19.6 percent month over month in December, and the attached dwelling market saw inventory decreases of 15.5 percent year over year and 26.9 percent month over month. The fourth quarter of 2014 saw sales of single-family homes dip a barely perceptible 0.035 percent compared with the fourth quarter of 2014, while the sale of condos/townhomes increased 30.1 percent compared with the last three months of 2014. “There’s very strong demand in the market,” Hotard says. “Pricing is reflecting that demand and available homes are in short
supply in most of the markets.” http://www.baraonline.com/news/2015/02/03/january-2015-boulder-area-market-sales-statistics
